Golfing app to make reserving tee times easier

Mappt, a location-based mobile appointments technology company, has unveiled the first products in its programme to digitise the golf industry.

The new website and mobile phone app 19th Hole Golf will enable golfers across the UK to reserve tee times and book lessons with pros on their terms.

The cloud-based service will be available to the public from 1 June 2013.

The apps and supporting systems will offer real-time availability of both tee times and golf lessons on dedicated apps for Android and iOS devices.

It will also offer a mobile and web booking system for tee times and golf lessons.

Tee times and golf lessons will be seen by time and geography first rather than by just the club and location. It will also give 24/7 real-time booking for golf lessons on a mobile and web platform.

Mappt says: “Until now, most of the 4 million golfers in the UK have had to make bookings for tee times or golf lessons either in person or by telephoning the relevant golf club/pro. Online booking systems and apps do exist but, because they’ve never had a central repository of fully real-time information, spanning tee times and golf lessons to draw on, they’ve never been able to provide an entirely accurate service.”

The new 19th Hole Golf app, and its sister app Pro Time Golf (for golf Pros), have been designed to use existing technology systems at golf courses, presenting the information in an accessible format for both golfers and pros.
